#railweatherwatch – how are you finding it?
05 December 2013
Severe weather conditions in Scotland and the north of England have caused extensive travel disruption. Passengers will be keen to see the quick resumption of normal services. However, in the meantime it is essential that the industry handles this disruption properly. This means providing passengers with up-to-date information, alternative ways to get to their destination, and making sure that services are back to normal at the promised time.
When there is disruption as we have today in Scotland and the north, we monitor passenger information provision and delay handling in order to give useful feedback to the rail industry afterwards.
We’re asking passengers to help us with this by sending tweeting good and bad examples of their train company’s handling of these delays using #railweatherwatch
Passengers should also be aware that they may be eligible for compensation for delays caused by the storm – they should check with their train company.
