Road User Voice – July 2016 – Boosting the road user voice in Yorkshire & Humberside

How is Highways England helping road users in Yorkshire and the Humber?
As well as looking at the national picture, Transport Focus is keen to get an understanding of road users’ experiences at a local level.
We have recently updated Highways England’s Yorkshire and Humberside team (its Area 12) about our research. We covered:
- road users’ needs and experiences
- car, van and motorcyclists’ priorities for improvements
- HGV drivers’ priorities for improvement
We also metAone+, Highways England’s maintenance contractor in this area. We’ve joined its Customer Hub to help Aone+ focus on areas that road users say are important.
We will continue this programme of working with regional units and contractors.
