Southern passengers continue to suffer – independent watchdog calls for talks to resume

06 July 2016

As Southern passengers continue to suffer, we are calling for talks to resume.

Anthony Smith, chief executive of Transport Focus, said:

“Southern passengers are having a difficult time right now and aren’t getting the reliable railway they need. Yet again, it is passengers suffering – the industry and union need to get round the table and get working on an immediate resolution to the dispute.

“This timetable change is a drastic step – passengers will be depending on it to be reliable. And to soften the blow, Southern should now offer discounted tickets and increased compensation for passengers facing daily inconvenience.”
