Southern strikes – Transport Focus response

Commenting on the strike action on Southern Rail beginning tomorrow, Tuesday 6 December, Transport Focus’s chief executive, Anthony Smith said:

“Passengers will be angry that strike action is happening again, causing yet more disruption on Southern services.  It results in considerable uncertainty and inconvenience for people travelling on this part of the network, particularly in the run up to Christmas.

“It is vital that all  parties in this dispute sit around the table to bring the services back to normal as soon as possible.  The imperative is even stronger given further strikes of both drivers and conductors are planned for next week and over the holiday period.”
