Transport User Voice – April 2018 – How do drivers rate our roads?
28 March 2018
We will launch the new Strategic Road User Survey (SRUS) on Tuesday 3 April.
The SRUS – replacing the current National Road User Satisfaction Survey – will provide more detailed information on road users’ satisfaction than what is currently available. This will make it easier for Highways England to focus more specifically on what needs to be improved and where.
Transport Focus will carry out face-to-face interviews with around 9000 drivers identifying their last journey on the Strategic Road Network – around 4300 miles long and made up of motorways and the most significant ‘A’ roads in the UK – within the last four weeks. We will use an interactive map to capture accurate journey details without increasing the time needed to complete the survey.
We’ll then invite all SRUS participants to join an online panel which will allow us to obtain immediate views from road users about emerging issues. This will allow us to better support road users by further understanding their perceptions, attitudes and behaviour.
The first set of results from the survey will be ready in late July.
