Transport User Voice – Chief executive’s editorial November 2017
25 October 2017
The last month has proved to be another productive period for Transport Focus. We continue to speak up for rail and bus passengers and made sure road users are front and centre of everyone’s thinking.
Transport Focus launched its first Motorway Services User Survey at Beaconsfield services. This new piece of road user insight certainly attracted plenty of conversation on the day. At one point we were the second most read story on the BBC news website, showing the real strength of feeling people have about services!
Our new work has thrown some light on a service industry that we all have a view on. It’s a great consumer story and I was delighted with the way that the sector and the Minister, John Hayes MP, responded on the day to the results. We look forward to following up the research in the year ahead to measure how the sector responds.
We will shortly be publishing an update on some important work for rail passengers looking at their experiences and priorities during engineering work. We know that that badly managed delays and disruption is the single biggest factor that drives up dissatisfaction amongst rail passengers. The results of this new work build on previous work we published in 2012. Let’s see if much has changed for passengers in those five years…
To learn more about what we’re doing for you and transport users please have a good read of November’s Transport User Voice. Better still why not join us in Manchester on 13 November where we will be holding a stakeholder event to share what we’re doing and understand how we can more usefully help you and transport users in the future.
