Transport User Voice – December 2016 – Out and about in the West Midlands

29 November 2016

Transport Focus’s Board was out and about in the West Midland to find out what transport users top priorities are.

To find out more about what’s happening in the region and across the country Transport Focus brought its public Board meeting to the NEC in Birmingham.

Members of the public joined the Transport Focus Board and staff to hear from the West Midlands Bus Alliance and Highways England. Transport Focus’s Linda McCord as Chair of the Alliance, Pete Bond of Transport for West Midlands, and Ali Bell from National Express outlined how they are helping improve services for bus passengers in the West Midlands.

Mel Clarke, Customer Experience Manager at Highways England also presented on how Highways England is working to put the customer at the heart of our roads.

Transport Focus went on to host stakeholders from across the West Midlands at an evening reception at the Library of Birmingham. Our keynote speaker for the evening, Councillor Stewart Stacey (Cabinet Member for Transport and Roads), spoke about recent improvements to transport in the region and the importance of the bus alliance.

Minutes of Board meetings can be found on our website here.
