Transport User Voice December 2024 – Great British Railways Customer Community

Working together for passengers
As rail reform gathers pace, Transport Focus is already working with colleagues at Great British Railways Transition Team (GBRTT) to generate insight into what is important for passengers.
Last year this partnership developed a new customer community which aims to build clear understanding of what it’s like for users now and what they want in the future.
It is made up of rail users from across a diverse range of needs and experiences. We use flexible, engaging research methods both online and in person and the community is already helping us to understand:
- more about rail users’ and potential users’ experiences and opinions of the railway in Britain
- opinions on rail’s strengths and weaknesses from the passenger perspective, and where improvements are needed
- potential customer driven solutions and new ideas to help shape the future of rail.
We will shortly be publishing a report which sets out findings from the first year of the community, while the second year is currently underway.
We will continue to work with GBRTT and the wider industry to inform their future plans, and to make sure that passengers views are at the heart of how railways are run.
