Transport User Voice – June 2022 – Scotland Board meeting

26 May 2022

Watch it back if you missed it

What is the latest on transport in Scotland?

We held our latest Board meeting in public in Edinburgh. It was an in-person meeting live-streamed on Twitter so people were able to ask questions both in the room and online.

Chris Gibb and Joanne Maguire from ScotRail Trains Ltd kicked off the discussion with a presentation on train services in Scotland and priorities for the future. They discussed the emergency timetable that came into action this Monday (23 May).

Kathryn Darbandi, chief executive of Caledonian Sleeper, then talked about how well services had recovered after the pandemic. It was good to hear how our regular satisfaction survey with Caledonian Sleeper helps illustrate and identify passenger priorities.

Paul White from the Confederation of Passenger Transport joined us for a chat about buses in Scotland and current challenges. The Board asked him about accessibility, bikes on buses and getting greener buses.

In case you missed it you can watch the meeting back here.

The day before, we invited passengers in Waverley station to come along and share their thoughts on Scottish transport as part of the ‘national conversation, ’ inviting them to write on our conversation wall. Staff and Board members were on hand to chat as well. Our insight is world-class, but personal experiences with transport users can be powerful too.

By the end of the day, we had a board full of commentary from Scotland’s passengers. It was great to see so many contributions and really adds life to the overall work we do in helping Scotland’s transport users every day.
