Transport User Voice March 2025- Bus passenger satisfaction revealed

25 February 2025

48,000 journeys covered in survey

Results from one of the largest bus passenger satisfaction surveys will give detailed insight into 48,000 journeys across England, Scotland, and for the first time Wales.

The results from the second year of the Your Bus Journey survey will be published on 25 March 2025. The results benchmark passengers’ satisfaction with the overall journey, the punctuality of the services in their local area, as well as value for money and journey times.

Travelling by bus is an integral part of how people commute, shop and visits loved ones. More than half the journeys taken on public transport are by bus, with decision-makers and the bus industry actively working to encourage more people to use their local bus.  The survey provides a robust, comparable benchmark set of data that transport authorities, bus operators and governments can use to reveal what really makes a difference to a bus passenger’s journey.

Speaking to more passengers than ever before, the survey will collect the experiences of passengers in participating areas which will steer improvements to services across the nation. We’ll be working closely with the bus industry to turn this data into delivery, meaning that improvement plans and future investment will make a positive impact for passengers.

Throughout 2025, we plan to dive deeper into the insight and look at the best performing operators while also looking further into some of the key factors within the survey.
