Rail reform proposals launched

At the end of February, the Government launched their consultation on the next phase of the journey towards Rail Reform. 

The consultation will ask for responses from stakeholders across the industry and will close on the 15 April. 

The outcome of the consultation will help to shape the next phase of the Railways Bill, which is expected to start on its path through Parliament later in the year.   

The consultation is a significant step towards redesigning the railway around the needs of everyone who uses it.  

We know that passengers want a reliable, affordable and accessible service. The challenge will be getting the reform right, so it delivers this consistently in the long-term, while demonstrating progress now to passengers who have already waited long enough. 

We’ll be looking hard at the proposals to make sure passengers drive every aspect of the reform.
