Transport User Voice – November 2022 – Our workplan for 2023-4

26 October 2022

Tell us what you think

We are starting to plan what we might work on in the financial year April 2023 to March 2024.

To inform this we carried out a Stakeholder Attitude Survey earlier this year. We spoke in depth to nearly 20 stakeholders across all the transport modes we work with and online a survey was filled in by around 380 respondents.

The results were broadly positive about Transport Focus’s influence, people, work priorities and ways of working. However, people did want more involvement in our work planning, more thought leadership around transport and sustainability. We hope to speak to some of you in more detail about our workplans for this period coming up.

The new plan is likely to focus on some key issues under an overarching theme of boosting transport sustainability. Day to day reliability of transport networks is key to satisfaction along with better value for money. In the much longer term choosing more sustainable transport options must become easier, particularly by making sure these choices are reliable and good value. We will continue engage with relevant reforms in transport to ensure that the user is at their heart.

All this will be underpinned by good quality, representative insight work – we will keep talking and listening to hundreds of thousands of transport users each year. Where we need too, we will refer issues to the relevant authorities – the Department for Transport and Office of Rail and Road in particular. All this work added together should help improve transport services.

But we do want to hear from you. If you have a big idea about what we should focus our work on and how we should do it, do tell me!
