Transport User Voice – October 2018 – Bus passenger satisfaction riding high in the West Midlands

28 September 2018

Nearly nine in every 10 passengers happy

In our latest Bus Passenger Survey in the West Midland 88 per cent of passengers are satisfied with their journey and 67 per cent of passengers – up 7 per cent on the previous year – felt their journey was good value for money.

Transport for West Midlands and the West Midlands Bus Alliance were keen to understand where they needed to focus for more satisfied passengers.

The West Midlands Bus Alliance (chaired by Transport Focus) is the first of its kind in Great Britain. It brings together bus operators, local councils, and other partners to focus on improving passenger journeys.

Linda McCord of Transport Focus, chair of the West Midlands Bus Alliance, said:

“We know punctual and reliable services drive passenger satisfaction and that the top priority for improvement among bus passengers is getting value for money. It’s really encouraging to see satisfaction on the up across all these key areas. We will continue to work together through the alliance to improve bus services even more for passengers.”
