Transport User Voice – October 2019 – Road user information: join the debate at Highways

30 September 2019

Remember, remember the 6 of November!

Road users want better information provided on motorways and major ‘A’ roads, particularly during periods of unexpected disruption. Transport Focus is speaking up for road users at the Highways UK conference in Birmingham on 6 and 7 November.

Transport Focus is hosting a roads information thought leadership panel discussion on the opening day. We will discuss the importance of information, including roadside signs, and what Highways England and the industry can do to better meet the needs of road users. This is an area where Transport Focus will be campaigning for improvement in the coming year.

Transport Focus chief executive Anthony Smith will also be speaking about road users’ top priorities on a panel event on the Road Investment Strategy alongside the interim chief executive of the Office of Rail and Road.

Visit us at stand J60 to discuss the results of Transport Focus’s user research. Try out our data hub and interrogate the latest Strategic Roads User Survey (SRUS) results about user satisfaction with journeys on the motorways and major ‘A’ roads.

Highways UK looks set to be an even bigger event than in previous years, bringing the roads sector together in one place to network and to discuss new ideas for future improvements. Transport Focus plays a significant role in ensuring that the road user voice is heard by those that fund, operate and maintain England’s strategic roads.

If you are at Highways UK in November, be sure to come and say hello!
