Transport User Voice September 2023 – Chief executive’s editorial

31 August 2023

Still time to have your say

With responses to the proposed rail ticket office closure consultation now more than 460,000, our role to listen to and act for the transport user has never been more important.

The responses from passengers will be an important part of our decision making on whether we will object or not the train operator plans. The consultation closes on 1 September and it’s still not too late to get your views in to us. Have your say here.

Bus passenger satisfaction will be the focus of our new Your Bus Journey survey, with mid-year results available in the next few weeks. With 34 local authority areas and one bus operating network in England and six Regional Transport Partnership areas in Scotland participating and gathering feedback from more than 33,000 journeys it’s probably one of the biggest passenger conversations about bus travel.

There still seems to be no end in sight for passengers when it comes to industrial action. As it’s nearly time to go ‘back to school’ we hope that the new term brings some progress. We again urge all parties to come together and resolve the issues – passengers deserve more.
