Transport User Voice – November 2016 – Ensuring the road user voice is heard…and understood

26 October 2016

We’ve been spreading the message about putting users first in Leeds this month.

We spoke at an internal Highways England event that brought together project management teams from across the North of England. We talked about how the agency should encourage, and act on, input from users as it develops both its large and smaller schemes for England’s motorways and major ‘A’ roads.

It is crucial that users are involved at an early stage of planning to ensure that schemes meet users’ needs, and work better both in the short and longer terms.

Engaging with and influencing decision makers which affect road users is a top priority for Transport Focus. We will therefore continue this programme of regional working with Highways England and its contractors.
