Transport User Voice – October 2016 – Bus survey expands into Scotland

26 September 2016

It’s that time of year again for Transport Focus to embark upon the Bus Passenger Survey in parts of England and Scotland.

Now in its seventh year, the 2016 survey promises to be our biggest and most comprehensive study of bus passenger satisfaction so far, with over 45,000 responses.

This year the survey will take place in many of our major cities in England as well as areas within many other transport authorities and bus operators in traditional unitary and shire areas.

In Scotland we will be able to carry out Bus Passenger Survey work thanks to valuable contributions from Transport Scotland, regional transport partnerships and bus operators including Stagecoach, First and National Express.

Passengers are able to complete the questionnaire either on paper or online.

Fieldworkers from our appointed research agency partners will be on buses during September, October and November, encouraging passengers to take part in the survey. If you are approached, do please take the opportunity to join in!

And if you are approached on more than one journey, that’s OK, we’d like to hear about each of the journeys, as each can be a different experience.

We aim to publish the full results in early spring 2017. Bus operators, local transport authorities and governments pay close attention to the survey results. These results also give us the evidence we need to drive improvements on behalf of passengers.
