Transport User Voice – October 2016 – Welsh rail franchise

We have recently submitted our response to the Welsh Affairs Committee’s inquiry into the Wales and Borders rail franchise.

The franchise is currently operated by Arriva Trains Wales, which has the contract until 2018. The inquiry focussed on current performance and sought to make recommendations for future improvements that can contribute to the upcoming procurement competition.

Meanwhile we are working with Transport for Wales, the Welsh Government and potential bidders to share experience and evidence from our research to ensure the passenger voice is kept at the heart of the future service, through the franchise process.
