Watchdog comments on Scottish Government coronavirus safer travel guidance

26 May 2020

Commenting on the new Scottish Government transport guidance, David Sidebottom, director at the independent watchdog Transport Focus, said:

“Many passengers will welcome the advice that passengers should wear face coverings. Support for the use of face coverings has increased week-on-week in Transport Focus’s Covid-19 survey, with almost two thirds agreeing that they should be worn when using public transport.

“It’s important that the transport industry now builds on this guidance so passengers using buses, trains, ferries, subway and trams are clear on what to expect from their operator as well as what’s expected of them.”
