Watchdog welcomes new disability-friendly motorway toilets

21 September 2019

Independent watchdog Transport Focus welcomes the news that Government has awarded Changing Places funding for 22 ‘Changing Places’ accessible toilets at motorway service stations.

Head of strategy Guy Dangerfield said:

“Disabled road users will be pleased to hear that more toilets will be accessible for them. We know from our research that driving gives disabled road users vital independence, especially where public transport cannot meet their needs, but that the lack of accessible toilets is one of the things that can cause anxiety. We would also like to see better information and signage to take the guesswork out of planning a journey.”
