Watchdog welcomes new technology to alert passengers when trains and stations are busy

Commenting on new technology to alert rail passengers when trains and stations are busy, Anthony Smith, chief executive of the independent watchdog Transport Focus, said:

“The ability to social distance remains a key concern for passengers with over 70 per cent of people telling us they would not travel unless this is in place.

“Passengers will welcome this new way to understand which trains are busier than others and so provide the best chance of keeping two metres apart from others.”
