Bus Subsidy Reform – Passenger Focus response
12 November 2012
Passenger Focus has submitted a response to the Department for Transport’s consultation into reforming bus service operators’ grant and Better Bus Areas. In particular, how funding could be devolved through local authorities. Our response emphasises how much passengers rely on their local services, drawing from research into the impact of bus service reductions. It also cites bus passenger survey results, highlighting the need for benchmarking and robust measurement to ensure increasing quality of service provision. This is also being supported by taking part in review group meetings.
