Incidents and roadworks – A road user perspective

16 November 2016

This report from Transport Focus explores road user experiences of planned roadworks and unplanned disruption.

Recommendations include planning shorter roadworks, 24/7 working and involving the freight industry more in roadworks planning. It also encourages more work to help release trapped traffic, preventing vehicles from joining the back of a long queue and providing more helpful information when they are stuck.

Below you can download a summary report and the full agency report.

Highways England’s response to the recommendations in this research can be found here.
