Telling passengers about Christmas disruption – Passenger Focus letter to the regulator

05 December 2012

Passenger Focus has asked the Office of Rail Regulation to investigate if Network Rail and train companies are complying with their obligations to finalise timetables 12 weeks in advance, and then make information available to passengers so they can plan journeys and buy tickets.

We called for the investigation after problems were found with information about Chiltern Railways and Virgin Train services in the run-up to Christmas.  Information about both companies’ trains is now correct on websites, thanks to Passenger Focus intervention.
