Cyclists, pedestrians and equestrians: measuring satisfaction with journeys on Highways England’s network in the West Midlands, Berkshire and Hampshire

12 September 2019

Cyclists, pedestrians and equestrians is the second wave of research which measures the satisfaction of cyclists and pedestrians with their journeys on and over Highways England’s network. It looks specifically in two areas; the West Midlands, and Berkshire and Hampshire.

This research builds on the first survey by measuring journey satisfaction among cyclists and pedestrians but also provides insight to help Highways England improve the journey experiences of cyclists, pedestrians and equestrians.

Data from the online survey, and that from the in-depth interviews, were also plotted onto interactive maps and are available for the West Midlands and Berkshire and Hampshire.

Highways England responded to the recommendations in this document in November 2020. You can read its response here.
