Highway England response to Transport Focus smart motorway research

In September 2017 Transport Focus published Getting to the heart of smart – road user experience of smart motorways setting out recommendations to Highways England following research undertaken with users of England’s motorways and major ‘A’ roads.

In October 2018 Highways England respond formally to those recommendations. Transport Focus subsequently replied to Highways England seeking greater pace in a key area – the roll out of automatic stopped vehicle detection. You can read this correspondence below.
