Bus passenger voice boosted!

25 September 2014

Bus passengers across England (outside of London) are having their say. The autumn 2014 wave of our Bus Passenger Survey is underway. We expect over 44,000 passengers will take part, making it the biggest ever.

The list of local authorities and bus companies taking part is set out below. In every area the money being invested in the survey by Passenger Focus is being dwarfed by money put in by those authorities and companies – almost to a ratio of one to three. I think this is proof of the value of the work.

Once the results are in, the benchmarking of services drives change in its own right. No one likes being bottom. We take the results and talk to authorities and bus companies, jointly working on action plans to improve things where change is needed.

You cannot beat the user’s voice for making improvements – as long as government and the industry are listening. In this case they are.
