Heat, light and power on the Underground

We all know the Underground is hot, very hot. In the summer it can be close to unbearable.

What therefore is the last thing you need more of? Something that pours out heat, right? So the installation of video advertising posters and projectors seems cruel. I am sure they generate lots of much needed cash but compared to the Heath Robinson giant fans put in at a few stations (which appear to have no effect whatsoever), the imbalance in energy and cash thrown at the two issues seems very disparate.
