Station stop?

Very odd what happens to the English language sometimes. The Virgin Trains’ announcement says, “Milton Keynes is our next station stop”, what a very odd way of saying it. The journey started with an astonishing list of negative messages that made you feel as welcome as a fare dodger. Instead of listing all the invalid tickets, could there not be a more positive message? For example, “The following tickets are valid on this service, others are not.”
