Visible staff

Northern have a great potential sales tool. All their trains have guards. We all know and our research confirms that passengers want to see more visible staff. However, in the course of about seven recent journeys on only one train did the guard come through checking tickets. It’s not an easy job and the amount of stops call for a lot of work. However, there really is no point in them being there if passengers don’t see them – I want my ticket to be checked! Couldn’t help notice there was  a lot of low-level anti-social behaviour – feet on seats, loud music and smoking at stations. Shame…
