Commenting on Baroness Tanni Grey-Thompson’s experience at London King’s Cross station, Transport Focus Chief Executive Alex Robertson, said:
“What a terrible experience to go through – no one should struggle to get the help they need to get off a train. This highlights how far the industry has to go to give disabled passengers confidence they will consistently get the service they are entitled to.
“When arrangements for Passenger Assistance go wrong, the consequences can be extremely serious. We frequently hear from passengers who tell us that while they find the current system easy to book, too often the service itself was not provided as requested, or at all, and communication was poor.”
