Catch the Bus Month kicks off
This September, we’re celebrating Catch the Bus Month.
Around 10 million journeys are made by bus every day, connecting our communities while reducing congestion and pollution. Buses boost the economy and are a vital service that keeps the country moving.
Catch the Bus Month celebrates the transformative power of accessible transport, influencing decision makers, shaping policy and protecting these vital services for future generations.
Catch the Bus Month Campaign Lead, Lydia Horbury, from Bus Users UK said:”Buses are the unsung heroes of transport and we want to get even more people on board because Catch the Bus Month isn’t just about riding the bus, it’s about driving change!”
Transport Focus’ Your Bus Journey survey provides independent insight on 48,000 journeys across England, Scotland and Wales. The survey provides a robust, comparable benchmark that can be used by transport authorities, bus operators and governments to identify what really makes a difference to a bus passenger’s journey. Our team works closely with these organisations to transform evidence and data into the delivery of improvements. This enables action plans and investment to make a positive impact for passengers.
While the results demonstrate good and, in some cases, improving performance, we recognise that there is still work to be done. We will use these results to work with Government, local authorities and bus operators to drive improvements, and encourage more people onto the bus
So, if you are returning to work or school after the summer holidays, visiting family or friends or simply just out and about doing your errands, why not think about catching the bus this September?
