Lockdown update – Transport Focus response

14 June 2021

Today the Government announced a four-week delay to the ending of lockdown restrictions.

David Sidebottom, director at the independent watchdog Transport Focus, said:

“Despite today’s announcement of the delayed unlocking, public transport and roads continue to get busier. Many people are starting to head back into offices, and plan travel for long-awaited holidays and reunions with friends and family. Operators need to provide good, up-to-date information on how busy services are expected to be. Passengers need to know if social distancing is not likely to be possible so they can make an informed choice. We’ll continue to track people’s experiences and use that information to help operators give the service people expect.”
