Young people aged 16 to 18 to get free bus travel across Greater Manchester

21 January 2019

Commenting on the Mayor of Greater Manchester’s plans to for young people aged 16 to 18 to get free bus travel across Greater Manchester, David Sidebottom, director at the independent watchdog Transport Focus, said:

“Young people are the biggest users of the bus – but they are the least satisfied group of passengers and don’t feel services are designed for them.

“Free bus travel for 16 to 18-year olds is welcome news for young people in Greater Manchester. It’s vital that the Mayor, bus operators and local authorities act now to make catching the bus as simple and intuitive as possible and ensure they don’t lose their customers of the future.”
