Inaccuracy of roadworks information – Transport Focus correspondence

22 April 2016

When Transport Focus asks about key issues in relation to England’s motorways and major ‘A’ roads, the inaccuracy of roadworks information is often mentioned by freight operators and their trade bodies.

Our discussions with Highways England about this didn’t leave us confident that its current plans were going to address road users’ reasonable concerns sufficiently fast enough.

We have written to Mel Clarke, Highways England’s director of customer operations, to highlight our concerns. You can read our letter and Highways England’s reply by clicking on the links below.

Two conference calls have since taken place between Transport Focus and Highways England, and we will continue work in this area until we see sustained improvement.
