West Yorkshire Combined Authority bus reform consultation response

19 January 2024

A public consultation on bus reform in West Yorkshire ran from 10 October to 7 January setting out details of the West Yorkshire Combined Authority’s proposals and seeking views in response.

The West Yorkshire Combined Authority believes it needs to change the way local buses are run to achieve their ambitions for better buses in West Yorkshire.

Buses are the most used form of public transport in West Yorkshire, with over 1.7 million bus journeys taken each week – but the number of passenger journeys are in long term decline.

The Transport Focus response to this consultation sets what we know are key issues for passengers locally. Focusing particularly on our research including bus passenger satisfaction and priorities for improvement for both current and future bus users.

We will continue to work for bus passengers in the city region through our role on the Enhanced Partnership Board.
