Transport Focus believes that the introduction of smarter ticketing across all public transport modes will make life easier – and cheaper – for passengers. For this to happen though, it is essential that any smarter ticketing schemes are well designed, rigorously tested before full implementation and introduced carefully with clear information.
To make sure that the passenger is at the heart of these developments – so that products are designed for ease of use rather than what is merely convenient to administer – Transport Focus undertakes research into smart-ticketing on behalf of the Department for Transport (DfT).
