Transport Focus welcomes publication of the Government’s Road Investment Strategy for the period 2026 to 2031

Louise Collins, director at Transport Focus, said: 

“Transport Focus welcomes publication of the Government’s strategy for England’s motorways and major ‘A’ roads over the next five years.  It is good to see our insight and recommendations featuring prominently, including the increased emphasis on maintaining the existing network.

“Capital investment in renewing existing infrastructure is vital to road users, but it inevitably means roadworks.  Therefore, it is important that National Highways continues to focus strongly on ensuring road users have smooth, reliable journeys while work is carried out.”

Transport Focus conducted extensive research to inform development of this strategy (known as ‘RIS3’) and has ensured that road users’ interests have been at the heart of the process.
