Transport User Voice November 2023 – Highways UK 2023

01 November 2023

Focus on road users

Transport Focus headed to Birmingham last month for the annual Highways UK conference.

Highways UK at the NEC in Birmingham is a great opportunity for us to put the voice of road users front and centre with the roads industry and share our latest research.

Transport Focus colleagues were available at our stand to talk about our latest research including our most recent Motorway Services User Survey, the Strategic Roads User Survey and the results of this year’s Logistics and Coach Services Survey. It also provided a great opportunity to talk about our upcoming work for electric vehicle users and our lorry driver facilities survey.

Our chief executive Anthony Smith was part of the keynote panel ‘Inspiring confidence and progress in the roads sector’ alongside speakers from National Highways, the Office of Rail and Road and the Department for Transport.

Guy Dangerfield, Transport Focus’s head of strategy also joined Anthony on a panel on how to bring the customer into the heart of decision-making. They were joined by Elliot Shaw from National Highways, Kate Jennings from Logistics UK and Dave Buttery, from the Department for Transport.

Senior stakeholder manager Lee Rowbotham was also part of this year’s judging panel for the Highways UK Excellence Awards which were revealed at the event.

For anyone who wasn’t there, or was but didn’t get to speak to us, all of our road’s research reports are available on our  website.
