Experiences of women and girls on transport

Transport for the West Midlands has been selected as a Transport Champion in the ‘Tackling violence against women and girls’ strategy. Transport Focus worked with TfWM to give some contextual information about the different experiences of women and girls using transport.

We quickly put together this preliminary piece of work to identify themes and possible futures activities. We asked our Transport User Panel and invitations were also extended to those outside the panel using social media, the Transport Focus website and by encouraging participants to forward invitations to other women.

We collected the views and experiences of 1282 respondents from across Great Britain. It is not a representative study and the percentages represent the views of our participants and not the general population.
