Blake Jones review: Transport Focus submission

29 July 2019

The Blake Jones review is one of many following the May 2018 timetable crisis. It focuses on the arrangements for managing the devolved Northern and TransPennine Express franchises and how this needs to change in order to prevent a recurrence.

The Blake Jones review is a joint effort, led by Councillor Judith Blake, Leader of Leeds City Council and West Yorkshire Combined Authority Transport Lead and the Rail Minister Andrew Jones MP. It draws on Transport Focus’s submission to the Glaister Inquiry, including passenger comments from the Transport User Panel throughout, as well as recognising Transport Focus’s role in developing the compensation scheme which paid out around £2m to 13,000 passengers last year.
